Expression Encoder now with a direct upload to Silverlight.live.com (Screen Cast)

I'm trying here to give a quick and nice overview about a new plug-in for Expression Encoder. You can also see my screen cast with a tour on Expression Encoder. For those who don't have any idea about Expression Encoder, is a Windows program for encoding digital audio and video media. It has a user interface and a command line control. Expression Encoder can be used to create video compressed in VC-1 targeting Microsoft Silverlight.

With this new plug-in you can upload directly to silverlight streaming host and avoid the creation of manifest file and application. The picture above shows the new space to introduce your account key and you can even see your online projects.

First Step:

Get the Expression Encoder, and the new Silverlight plug-in. After the installations you can now import media resources (avi, wma, mpeg, etc) into your current job. Then you can add a trailer or a lead video to accomplish. Check the output settings, such as video size, audio quality and see the estimated file size. Remember the host doesn’t accept files bigger then 22mb! LL

Second Step:

Create Metadata into your job. You can add markers, chapters, points in the movie like a professional DVD J. Select the point on the time line and add a marker. Give a name and a thumbnail, you can create more markers as you wish. Now it’s time to choose a nice template for your player. You can select at job output settings and check again your account key and application settings.

Third Step:

Now it’s time to encode! You can select automatic publish, and after encode the software will automatically upload you application to the silverlight host. It’s time to see the results.

You can see my screen cast with a tour of Expression Encoder, on silverlight host.

For those who will attend at Techdays 2008 I'll show this demo and other features about Silverlight. (HOL).
